The Braille display, Seika, is an information technology device which can help the visual impaired using a computer etc., he or she can read texts from a computer display in Braille. Six needle-like pins move up and down to form the Braille, making it possible for the visually impaired person to read books and documents for study or work. Screen reader software, or a voice text system can also be used with the Braille display. There are 6 types of Seika Braille displays such as Version 3,4,5, mini Seika and Seika 80. They are all simple equipments. Braille display is normally sold at more than 300,000 yen/unit before but our display costs less than half of that price. Therefore our display has become very popular all over the world. In Russia, for instance, they are using them in their call centers. The number of sales in the world is more than 3000 units. Its use has been widespread in Europe and America, and markets of emerging countries in Asia and Africa are expected to grow as their needs and awareness for social welfare, security and education are increasing.
